Siv Spurgeon is a representational watercolor artist. Her paintings often feature tightly cropped views of objects found around us. She loves to capture the feeling of light and strives for a strong composition of her subject matter. Her training as an engineer may explain her love of drawing and her fascination with complex and highly detailed subjects. She has recently started to experiment with more abstract work.
Siv grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, and moved to the United States in 1967. She exhibits widely and is a frequent award winner. Siv is very active in the local art community, an elected member of the Artists Circle and the Howard Pyle Studio Group, Inc., and currently serves as Membership Chair of the Philadelphia Water Color Society, where she formerly served as President.
